How Acupuncture Supports the Body’s Natural Healing Process

When your body is under stress, experiencing pain, or feeling out of balance, it can sometimes feel as though it has forgotten how to relax, restore, and heal. Acupuncture offers a gentle way to support the body’s own healing processes by working with the nervous system, circulation, muscles, and energetic pathways of the body.

At Inner Spring Wellness, I view acupuncture as more than simply placing needles in specific points. Each treatment is personalized to you and what your body is experiencing in that moment.

What Is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a holistic therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Very fine, sterile needles are placed at specific points on the body to encourage balance and support the body's natural regulatory processes.

From a modern perspective, acupuncture may influence the nervous system, circulation, muscle tension, and the body's response to stress. It can be particularly helpful when the body has become stuck in a cycle of tension, discomfort, or heightened stress.

Acupuncture and the Nervous System

Our nervous systems are constantly responding to everything we experience—work, relationships, physical pain, lack of sleep, emotional stress, and the demands of everyday life.

When stress becomes chronic, the body can have difficulty shifting out of a heightened state and into the restorative state needed for rest and healing.

Acupuncture can be a powerful tool for supporting nervous system regulation. Many people experience a sense of deep relaxation during or after treatment, allowing the body an opportunity to slow down and move toward a more balanced, restorative state.

Supporting Pain and Tension

Acupuncture is commonly used to support people experiencing muscle tension and a variety of pain conditions, including neck and shoulder tension, back pain, headaches, and other musculoskeletal concerns.

By addressing the individual rather than simply focusing on where something hurts, treatment may help uncover contributing patterns of tension and imbalance.

Depending on your needs, acupuncture may also be combined with other therapies offered at Inner Spring Wellness, such as cupping therapy, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, or Reiki.

Acupuncture for Women's Health

Acupuncture can also be incorporated into a personalized approach to women's health and wellness.

I work with women seeking support through different stages and transitions, including hormonal changes, menstrual concerns, fertility and IVF/IUI support, pregnancy, menopause, and the stress that can accompany these experiences.

Every person's needs are different, which is why treatments are tailored to the individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Your Treatment Is Personalized

One of the things I value most about acupuncture is that treatment isn't simply about addressing a symptom.

I take time to listen to what you're experiencing, understand your history, and consider the physical, emotional, and energetic patterns that may be contributing to how you feel.

Your treatment may include acupuncture alone or be combined with other therapeutic modalities depending on what your body needs.

Creating Space for Healing

Sometimes healing begins by simply giving your body permission to slow down.

Whether you're seeking support for pain, stress, hormonal health, nervous system regulation, or overall well-being, acupuncture can provide an opportunity to pause, reconnect with your body, and support its natural capacity for balance.

At Inner Spring Wellness, my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and cared for—because healing is not just about treating what's wrong. It's about creating the conditions that allow you to feel more like yourself again.
