What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a comprehensive holistic medical system for assessment and treatment of acute and chronic disorders, male and female infertility, as well as preventative health care and maintenance.  Oriental medicine includes acupuncture, Chinese herbology and bodywork, dietary therapy and exercise based on traditional Oriental medicine principles.  In some cases treatments can employ other Accessory Techniques such as Cupping, Moxabustion, Gua Sha, Electro Acupuncture and Tuina.

These therapies work with the natural vital energy inherent within all living things to promote the body’s ability to heal itself.

TCM originated in China over 5,000 years ago and has been introduced in the States for more than 150 years. There is a growing convergence between Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine.

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine comprises of nearly 6,000 substances derived from plant, animal, and mineral sources. Taken in the form of teas, powders, capsules and applied to the body as liniments, herbal formulas are very effective in nourishing, strengthening, and regulating the body. As an essential therapy, herbs are formulated to specifically tailor each person's condition in a holistic, safe, alternative approach to health and well-being.
